My name is Sue and I live in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania with my husband and our two dogs. My experience as an off-premise caterer for almost 25 years has given me a great deal of practical experience with planning events, cooking and entertaining. My goal as a caterer was to serve fresh, delicious food with interesting menus combined with beautifiul presentation and outstanding service. I catered both corporate and private events as diverse as Caribbean and luau wedding receptions complete with roast pig, a costumed Halloween wedding reception as well as graduations, anniversaries and other significant life events. The guest lists were as small as dinner for two to a reception for over four hundred.
We have been cooking and eating seasonally and locally as much as possible long before it was the responsible and fashionable thing to do. Locally for us, in many instances, is a short walk down to our garden. Our large vegetable and herb garden contributes to our meals either fresh in season or preserved throughout the year. We enjoy cooking and entertaining throughout the year for both friends and family. Whether on the deck, indoors and in the conservatory our parties range from our annual Christmas celebration, seven fishes Christmas eve, an occasional Jambalaya Jam, a bistro-style “April in Paris” to a six course annual Chinese New Year dinner.
Sue’s Seasonal Palate is about new recipes and old favorites, bringing fresh produce from the garden to the table and learning new things about food. I hope to bring my love of cooking to the readers of this blog. I can be contacted at suesseasonalpalate@gmail.com
